5th Marines Commanding Officer Colonel Patrick J. Malay
Speaks at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point (MAP/DIRECTIONS)
April 28, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Colonel Patrick J. Malay, a decorated officer, commanded Regimental Combat Team 5 during its yearlong tour in western Anbar province throughout 2008 and early 2009. Throughout the entire deployment, the Regiment hunted down and destroyed the irreconcilable elements in the desert and maintained its reputation as the most decorated regiment in the Marine Corps.
Come to the Ocean Institute and hear the real success story of the remarkable period of stabilization that took place under Colonel Malay’s rule. His talk will be a no-nonsense war room debriefing of his 13 months in country. This talk is not to be missed. You will want to tell all your friends about this.
A $10 donation will gratefully be accepted for the DP 5th Marine Regiment Support Group. Proceeds will go to continue the good work of the Support Group in assisting those Marines who are deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families who remain behind at Camp Pendleton.
