Our 5th Marines and DP 5th MAR Support Group Say "Thank you to our Generous Donors"
Dear Friends,
On behalf of our 5th Marines and Dana Point 5th MAR Support Group Board I would like to say a very special Thank You to all our Dana Point and surrounding Area Residents, our City Council & Staff, OCSD & OCFA, numerous Businesses, Civic & Religious Organizations, Schools, plus other Non-Profit Organizations for their unwavering Support of our 5th MAR and their Families.
It is a direct result of their generosity and kindness that we as a Support Organization have been able to give back to our Marines during a wonderfully rewarding and successful 2008. The coverage as provided by our News Media has been very helpful in keeping our image and profile readily apparent within the community.
In addition to providing Outreach and Supplemental Support to our Families in the form of "Pamper Parties," Baby Showers, Christmas Gifts, Food Stuffs by the Truck Load, Multi-Purpose Room Improvements at the Base, Financial Aid, Home Furnishings and so many other Gifts, the pinnacle of our collective and combined successes was our "Holiday Goodies For Our Marines" Campaign.
Each of you played a key role in putting a Smile on the faces of our Marines-Deployed & Home, Mom's and the Kids. During the course of the year we sent over 540 USPS Flat Rate Boxes to our Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, with roughly 275 being shipped during the November-December Thanksgiving & Christmas Holiday Period. Thanks to the Flyer Family & Temple Beth El, Passover Food and Gifts were shipped to our Navy Chaplain, Rabbi Cutler In-Country so our Jewish Marines & Sailors might better celebrate this Holiday.
