This video is from the weekly Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary (MBSR) Club meeting on October 29, 2008, at the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point, California, honoring the 5th Marines... more details about this video below the video.
This was a very special meeting where Captain Fernadez of the Fifth Marine Regiment based at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA, presented a Certificate of Appreciate and the Flag of the United States of America that was flown over Fallujah, Iraq, to 2008-09 Monarch Beach Rotary President, Linda Hess, and to all the members of this dynamic, giving Rotary Club.
This certificate was in recognition of the Club's assistance to the troops in country and the 5th Marine Regiment on base. From the dozens of "goodie boxes" sent to the troops in country to the more than $17,000.00 raised by MBSR members and donated directly to the Fifth Marine Regiment.
Captain Fernadez also recognized the tireless service of MBSR member and Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group Director, Terry Rifkin. The Captain also recognized the President of the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group and former Marine, Pete Hammer, who was an honored guest at the meeting.
Captain Juan Jose Martin Fernadez de Castro is from Miami, FL, born in Los Angeles, and has served 17 years in the United States Marine Corp. He was honored to attend the meeting of the Monarch Beach Rotary Club to present these honors.
Here is the text from this certificate:
