The winner of the People's Choice Beer Garden was Bayhawk Ales Brewery. The favorite beer of our crowd was Hefe Weizen. Many thanks to Jeff Williams, owner of O'Shea's Brewing Company for helping to make the 1st ever Dana Point Kansas City BBQ extra successful by adding the special brews for our folks to taste.
Come join us at the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group's “People’s Choice Beer & Wine Garden” on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00am-7:00pm at the Dana Point World Class BBQ Championship at Sea Terrace Park in beautiful Dana Point.

TIME: 10:00am to 7:00pm
Note: The Dana Point BBQ Championship starts at 9am, but the beer & wine garden opens at 10am.
LOCATION: Sea Terrace Park in Dana Point, located off the corner of Pacific Coast Highway & Niguel Road. Free parking at Salt Creek Beach Park and Strands Vista Park (free shuttle).

COST: The event and parking are free. Beer & Wine tickets will be sold at the event for $6 each. TO ENTER THE BEER & WINE GARDEN YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. IDs FOR ALL WILL BE CHECKED AT THE EVENT.
The Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group’s “People’s Choice Beer & Wine Garden” will feature 4 brewery tents:

Each of these world-class breweries will feature 3 different beers in their beer tents, a total of 12 different types of beer! Patrons can buy beer tickets at the event for just $6.00 each from the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group at the event for one 16-ounce beer OR buy a flight of four, 4-ounce beers to participate in the “People's Choice Beer Contest” and vote for their favorite brew with the winning brewery receiving the BEST BEER AWARD plaque from the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group. We will also be selling four different wines, 2 white and 2 reds for $6.00 for a 4-ounce glass of wine or four, 1-ounce wine tasting flight.
All the proceeds from the “People’s Choice Beer & Wine Garden” will go to help provide Support and Outreach to the 5th MAR Marines & Sailors (At Camp Pendleton and when Deployed) and their Families here at Home.

ABOUT THE DANA POINT BBQ CHAMPIONSHIP: The City of Dana Point is partnering with the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) to bring a world-class barbeque championship to Dana Point. Competitors from around the country will travel to the shores of Dana Point to participate in a professional competition with top award winners receiving cash prizes. This all day event will feature BBQ food tasting from over 40 competitors, a “Hot Wing Throw Down” eating contest, live music, displays and the People’s Choice Beer & Wine Garden.
