The sun came out and the cars rolled in. Estimates are that the DP5thMar Support Group grossed over $11,000 for a very successful day. Thanks goes to our hard working Marines who washed 550 cars under the leadership of Jeremy Martinez. Partnering with our Marine leadership was Jim O'Neill, project manager, and Pete Hammer, President. A well- run and profitable day. Phil Konoke of Steer Crazy fed our hungry masses with his burgers, dogs, and chili and Barb Callard kept the food court running. Many thanks to our volunteers; Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotarians and Friends of the Fifth helped tie all the pieces together. Appreciation to Mayor Steven Weinberg and other city officials for visiting, along with the always dedicated Police and Fire Departments made this a memorable and all-city event. Proceeds of this day allow us to continue our mission of supporting our Fighting Fifth.

Our 5th Marines in conjunction with our DP 5th MAR Support Group will Host their Semi-Annual Car Wash at South Shores Church on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 9:00am-3:00pm.
The Car Wash, Food Court, and Marine Corps pins are all complimentary. Marine, Police & Fire Vehicles will be on Static Display for the entire Family and Kids to enjoy.

Just before our last car wash fundraiser in Oct 2009, Mai Griffith, 8, of Dana Point set up a stand where she sold lemonade she made from lemons off her backyard tree.
