Terry A. Rifkin, President-CEO:
Terry has a private practice in Laguna Niguel as a licensed Psychotherapist since 1981. She has a special recognition in her field by holding a Diploma in Clinical Social Work. Terry is also a member of “Who’s Who of American Professional and Business Women”. She is a published author and has served as a Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California. Terry is a Charter member, Past President and Director of the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club and a sustaining Paul Harris Fellow. In 2008, Terry was selected to be the Rotary District Business Rotarian of the Year. She served as Director of Support and Outreach for the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group 2008-2012. Terry was recognized in her community with the “Heart and Soul Award” for August of 2011. This award recognizes Orange County citizens for their passion for life and their dedication for making a difference. In March of 2012, Terry was honored by Assemblywoman Diane Harkey as the 73rd Assembly District Woman of the Year. This honor was given for Terry’s tireless community service and her devoted efforts with our military troops and their families.
MSgt Hank Snyder USMC-Ret,-Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer
Hank Snyder after 28 years of service retired from our Marine Corps in 1982. He is the President & CEO of Safe Tax and Business Accounting Services and has an extensive background in tax-business consulting, software development, and sits on five different Boards of Directors. He is a Member & Director of the Exchange Club Of San Clemente, a past President and is currently their Treasurer.
Brian Coty, Director:
Brian Coty moved from Raytheon’s Missile Division to the Airframe Structural Test Group of McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach California. Brian transferred to the MD-11 Wing Design Group as an Airframe Design Engineer. He finished out his career at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing by working on the C-17 Transport Aircraft for over 7 years as a Airframe Design Engineer, Lead Engineer and Project Manager. Brian is a Realtor with Re/Max Select One located in Dana Point. Director Brian Coty has donated 100s of hours of his time and resources serving tirelessly as the DP 5th MAR Support Organization’s point person with Rock Of Ages & our Marines to design, build, transport and place the 5th Marines Operation Enduring Freedom Monument at Camp Pendleton.
Mike Lipscombe, Director:
Mike is a former Marine and Vietnam veteran serving with HMM 163 and others at Marble Mountain during the early years 1965-66. After leaving he went back to school and completed 2 engineering degrees and a masters in Finance. He has worked in the Aerospace and Defense industries in California for companies such as Honeywell, Meggitt and Armtec in the supply chain area. He is currently responsible for Compliance at Ceradyne Inc, a subsidiary of 3M that produces body armor and helmets for the Marines, and other branches of the armed forces. He serves on the Board of Fisher House of Southern California, and has served on the Board of the American Legion Post 291 Newport Harbor where he is currently the Chairman of the Donations Committee. Mike moved to Dana Point in 2008 from Hermosa Beach where he lived after leaving the Marines, and enjoys sailing and working on his old BMW and most of all spending time with his wife Vicki.
Judy Mastracchio, Director:
After some life-changing events, Judy moved to Dana Point from the east coast in 2008. She decided to become an entrepreneur and created a website and a virtual organization called "OC Active Seniors" for folks who are seniors in age only. It has become very successful reaching over 2000 subscribers. Realizing how her personal experience could help others move on with their lives as she had, Judy achieved certifications as a Life Coach, Professional Coach and Divorce Coach. Also on her "bucket list" was to pursue being a stand-up comic and she made her first stage appearance in 2010. Her love of comedy led to co-producing two fundraising events for the DP5MRSG: "Operation Semper Funny" in 2013 and "Laughs for Leathernecks" in 2014. She's also served as President of her HOA and is Coordinator of Middle School Youth Ministry at St. Edward the Confessor here in Dana Point. She feels one of the highest honors she has ever achieved is to serve as Secretary for the DP5MRSG.
Cathy Nelson, Secretary:
Cathy is a Capo Beach Resident for 30 years and has recently retired from working as an executive/legal secretary. She has been active in the local community and has been involved with numerous non-profit organizations including the Capistrano Valley Symphony, the Dana Point Earth/Ocean Society, and the Sand Dollar Guild; a fund raising arm for the Ocean Institute. She joined the Guild in 1996 and has been on the board of directors for most of her tenure and is currently serving as co-President for the second year in a row. She also belongs to Beta Sigma Phi, Tau Phi Chapter, a philanthropic sorority, and has been on the board of directors for their chapter for many years. She has been involved as a volunteer with the 5th Marines Combat Golf Tournament and feels privileged to be involved with such wonderful, dedicated people!
April O'Connor, Director:
April is a resident of Dana Point since 1999. The City Council appointed her to serve on the Planning Commission. For 12 years in her capacity as Chairwoman and Planning Commissioner, April has reviewed development projects throughout Dana Point. April is also an Auction Committee Member for the Saddleback College Foundation and is raising money for student scholarships and funding needs on campus. Her career experience includes a decade of working in the legal field. April is currently a partner and Vice President of Monarch Design & Management. The company specializes in property management and creative design for large-scale events. April looks forward to acting as Director of Capital Improvements. She believes volunteering for the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group is both a privilege and honor to help Marines and their families.
Patti Short, Director:
As a 32 year resident of Dana Point, I am proud of the mission of the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group and honored to serve on its Board of Directors. Career experience includes retail sales, advertising, telecommunications customer service, sales and marketing, and event planning and management. Currently I'm a full time Realtor with 26 years of experience. Have previously served the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; the Capistrano Valley Symphony Board of Trustees; the Dana Point Incorporation Study Team; the first Harbor Revitalization Committee and as a Charter Member of the Sand Dollar Guild. Currently a member of the Earth Ocean Society Board of Directors; Dana Point "Citizen of the Year" Committee; Orange County Women in Networking Board of Directors; Dana Point Chamber of Commerce; National Association of Realtors; California Association of Realtors; Laguna Board of Realtors.
Robin Skiles, Director:
Robin worked for about 25 years in governmental and corporate leadership positions, including Vice President of a $10 billion corporation. She managed global communications operations, including public relations, financial media relations, employee communications, video & photography and crisis management and was a key team member for the execution of Asian and European strategies, product launches, corporate downsizing, including plant closures, financial earnings and executive communication. She is honored and thrilled to be a part of this group and looks forward to helping support all those affiliated with the “Fighting Fifth”. Currently Robin is serving on the Board of Directors for the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group in the capacity of Director of Outreach and Support.
Alan Wickstrom, Director:
Alan is President / CEO of BuildingOnline, a leading web design and Internet marketing agency that he founded in 1995. Alan is the Past President of the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, former Vice-Chair of the City of Dana Point's Arts & Culture Commission, past Board Member of Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and Dana Point Coastal Arts.
